Naturally people have asked a lot of questions about our innovative technology. This new technology is proprietary and we intend to keep it that way. However, here are a few answers to some questions we can disclose.




Q. How does the Symetron™ technology deliver better performance?

A. Symetron™ motor technology is based on our work in advanced motor theory which is the basis for  several proprietary design innovations that achieve dramatic increases in torque and power.




Q. How does a Symetron™ enhanced motor differ from Brushless DC motors?

A. Symetron™ enhanced motor can deliver high torque without using expensive permanent magnet material with increased flux density and durability.

  Q. Is the Symetron motor technology useful in the new Hybrids and Hydrogen Fuel cell vehicles?

A. Yes. Hydrogen Fuel cell vehicles still require an electric motor to drive the vehicle. Hydrogen Fuel Cells simply convert Hydrogen to the electricity required by the electric motor.  Because of its light weight and high torque, a Symetron™ enhanced motor is  ideal for most low emission gasoline-hybrids and all electric vehicles as well.
 


Q. Is a Symetron™ motor simply a modification of existing technology?

A. No. Symetron™ is a significant leap forward in electric motor theory, and represents new and unique design innovations. Applying Raser's advanced technology to a conventional motor requires only minor modifications in manufacturing, but yields dramatic improvements in power, and efficiency under full load.




Q. Is a 1% or 2% gain in efficiency a significant improvement?

A. Yes. In industrial applications a 1% or 2% improvement can save thousands of dollars monthly in energy savings and operating costs. In many applications the motor pays for itself in energy savings alone the first year. In Electric Vehicles, this improved efficiency may extend battery range during high torque conditions such as acceleration.




Q. Is the Symetron™ motor technology useful in the new Hybrids and Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles?

A. Yes. Hydrogen Fuel Cells simply convert Hydrogen to the electricity required by the electric motor powering the vehicle. Hydrogen Fuel cell vehicles still require an electric motor. The Symetron™ motor offers the most power and efficiency possible in an electric motor. Raser's Symetron™ is also the ideal choice for most low emission gasoline-hybrid vehicles as well.




Q. Can it be run off either an AC or DC power source.

A. Yes.




Q. Can the Symetron™ Motor technology be copied or pirated easily?

A. The Symetron™ motor technology is clearly unique compared to other electric motors. It is based on proprietary scientific principles with  Patents applied. No imitation motor can be built without direct infringement on patents.




Q. Is this new technology more complicated?

A. No. In fact the simplified motor and controller are more affordable. It actually has the potential to reduce manufacturing costs and increase reliability.
