184T Motor
Modified with Symetron™ Technology
As part of a test demonstration of
Raser’s advanced motor technology, a
184T AC Induction motor was
modified with Raser’s Symetron™
technology. The motor dimensions
remained the same with only a slight
change in weight. A series of
dynamometer tests and additional
validation testing by Advanced
Energy, have verified dramatic
improvements in performance of the
motor.
Performance
Test Results
The Symetron™ Enhanced version of
the motor showed a dramatic 3 times
improvement in pull out torque
without compromising efficiency. In
fact, when running the motor at 3X the rated torque, it
maintained good efficiencies while
the unmodified motor “pulled out” or
failed when pushed to just over 2X
the rated torque. The modified motor
maintained 3X rated torque through
out the entire speed range.
