Raser’s State-of-the-Art Technology Development Center
Raser has expanded its Technology
Development Center in Orem, Utah. The new high-tech
lab facility provides an operating environment for
Raser engineers to accelerate the delivery of its
technology to its customers.

Raser’s new Technology
Development Center in Orem, Utah
The Tech Center houses three lab areas that employ
equipment critical to the process of developing and
testing prototypes and products for our customers
and manufacturing partners.

State-of-the-art four
quadrant dynamometer test stand capable of handling
electric motors up to 125 hp.

LabVIEW data collection
stations for characterizing and optimizing Symetron™
motor performance.
“The speed at which we can deliver working
prototypes of Symetron™-enhanced designs to our
customers is no longer limited by the capability and
availability of outside testing labs, not to mention
the expense and travel time required,” said Dr.
Sergei Kolomeitsev, Raser’s Director of Motor
Development. “Having this advanced Technology
Development Center allows us thorough and accurate
testing prior to validation at independent testing
labs and at customer facilities.”

Liquid cooling systems
required by automotive customers to simulate engine
cooling.

Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools that
allow rapid motor design and performance
predictions, and an electronics lab for the design,
development and prototyping of Symetron™
controllers.

The first Symetron™ drive system tested at
the new Technology Development Center was an
integrated starter alternator (ISA) prior to its
delivery and testing with a major automaker.
“We are in the business of developing and licensing
innovation,” said Brent M. Cook, Raser’s Chief
Executive Officer. “This new facility helps us move
our proprietary technology into our customers’ hands
faster and with less expense. As we continue to
attract the best talent in the areas of automotive,
industrial and power generation, we will provide
them the finest development and testing tools
available.”
