Technologies exhibited and presented
at the recent annual Electric Drive
Transportation Association (EDTA)
Conference and Exposition in
Orlando, Florida. As a member of the
EDTA, Raser participated in this
show because of the show's
significance to hybrid and fuel cell
car manufacturers. Raser exhibited
its revolutionary AC pancake motor
for HEV applications. Toyota, Ford,
and GM presented four of their new
hybrid models.

Raser’s Symetron™ AC pancake motor
can produce the torque of a
permanent magnet motor without using
costly PM materials. Symetron™
enhanced technology for AC induction
motors can deliver a significant
increase in performance for the same
motor, or up to 30% smaller motor
with the same performance.
“The combination of power and
economy offered by Symetron™
technology are important factors for
broad adaptation of hybrid
technology in a wide range of
vehicles from mild hybrids, to full
hybrid cars, trucks and buses," said
Timothy Fehr, Raser’s Chief
Technology Officer. Mr. Fehr was a
featured speaker and panelist on the
topic From the Inside Out: Electric
Drive Components. "We believe our
technology also offers significant
advantages for use in integrated
starter alternators (ISAs) for
military and commercial
applications,” said Mr. Fehr.
Other representatives from some of
the world's leading automotive
manufacturers were present,
including Honda, Daimler/Chrysler,
Enova, and Ballard.
